jessikastOMFG WHERE IS THE FIX-IT FIC???
SRSLY.
My reactions to this are kind of all over the place because we watched Day One last night and then days Two through Five today in a big marathon and now we're done we've both got our laptops out and are furiously typing reactions and stuff:
BUT:
1) I kind of like Alice. She seems a wee bit kick-ass. And she rocks a big grey coat I WONDER WHERE SHE GOT THAT FROM.
2) IANTO. Obvs. I didn't actually take his death scene seriously until the last moment, because I thought they wouldn't do that. OH, RUSTY, WHY DO YOU LEARN FROM JOSS? I mean, we had been pretty sure that either Rhys or the Welsh Fetus would bite it, but still! Ianto! He's making coffee and wearing spiffy waistcoats in heaven now! At least until it is revealed that so much exposure to Jack's...um...DNA has given him some mysterious recuperative powers, y/y?
3) Ianto's whole coming out to his sister and the death scene - dialogue just like a fanfic! I mean, a good fanfic, but still. Am I just this unused to seeing any such scene in an actual TV show?
4) Ianto's brother-in-law: a thoroughly cool dude. I liked him! Crude, but someone you'd want on your side. As long as you didn't mind the jokes about butt secks.

6) Is there a Torchwood now at all? It must be just Gwen - even motherhood couldn't stop her Caring About Saving People and utilising her big eyes, and surprisingly awesome gun handling skills (to shoot things in the face.) She can recruit PC Andy! And Lois (who was beautifully brave) can make the coffee. And be the most kickass PA ever.
7) WHAT HAPPENED TO MYFANWY??
8) I loved the bit where Ianto got Jack his coat back. In the "next episode!" clip I'd made a joke how that coat must have been indestructible. Hah!
9) John Frobisher - oh, woobie. Poor civil servant. With the multiple homicides. But yes. Woobie.
10) Johnson (the military chick) - I would also like to see her in a reconstituted Torchwood. She's ruthless and very good at what she does, but also listens to logic and stuff.
11) Rhys is going to be the best daddy ever.
12) The Hub is blown up and there is no Torchwood left, but they've not exactly wrapped up Captain Jack's story, have they? I mean, Gwen's story is kind of at a stage where I can say, yeah, she can go off and raise little Welsh rugby players with Rhys as a stay-at-home dad while she saves the world. But Jack, his emotional arc is no where NEAR done.
12) I liked the Leverage-style "let's be criminals!" bit. Oh, they were just too good at that.
13) I can't really think of anything else to say right now except I WANT MY FIXIT FIC.
14) Oh, and this is the only Torchwood icon I have even though it's not 100% appropriate.
15) HA HA JOHN BARROWMAN'S ASS.
