My passions and interests tend to the fascinatingly arcane and useless. I have a wonderfully useless Classics and AnthropologyLinguistics English Language (mmm, Old English!) degree with touches of Greek and Latin on the side and Honours in Medieval and Early Modern European Studies, which allowed me to add Old Norse (aka Medieval Icelandic) to my list of languages.

I burnt out halfway through my Masters and while I fully intend to return to post-graduate study, I'm a student of life. Or just someone who exercises her library card a lot.

When I'm not at reading or spending too much time on the internet, I make a living (although not yet a career - I don't know what I want to be when I grow up!) being an office administrator. I think my workmates think I'm a bit crazy. That's okay. They bring me caramel slices.

I think of myself as being relaxed, down-to-earth, possessing a good sense of humour and open-minded. Except when it suits my purposes not to be, of course.

I am poly-fandom. I have long since cheated on my original fandom (Xena), and moved into the myriad of things listed in my interests. I have written fanfiction. Some of it is very bad. Some of it is very bad on purpose.

Currently, I'm mostly into Stargate Atlantis and Supernatural. I'm enjoying watching: Doctor Who, Torchwood, America's Next Top Model, Chuck, Merlin, Dollhouse...and so on and so on.

You won't find psychodrama in my journal. You'll find random ramblings wherein I recount my days in great detail and talk about what's on my mind. Sometimes, I'll post links. Or even quizzes, if you're really lucky!

The title of my journal is "wundenlocc" which means 'curly haired' in Old English. (wunden=wound, locc=lock. Like Goldilocks!) The second part, "bydand" is Scots for 'remaning', my family motto.
